Kansas City Farmers Market

While the Kansas City area in Summer can be terribly hot, the local farmers markets do not disappoint.  My favorite is the City Market in Kansas City, MO.  It offers the most variety in produce and food items and a most diverse group of shoppers.  You will learn something new about food or how to prepare food just by walking through the market.
I love fresh tomatoes, peaches and watermelon and my gardening skills are still a work in progress.  A trip to one of the open markets in Olathe solves that problem easily.  (Olathe has two farmers markets in different areas of town.)  I can find fresh fruits and vegetables - even farm fresh eggs.
The market in Overland Park has wonderful fresh foods and flowers.  They also have some locally made soaps and candles.  If you don't want to carry cash, which most markets require, the market in Overland Park will allow you to purchase tokens with a credit card and then you can use those tokens to purchase items from the various merchants.
Summer is just not complete without several trips to the markets.  It's so great to support local farmers and small businesses.
The people in the Kansas City area are so great about supporting local businesses.  Don't forget to support locally owned bins4moves if you are thinking about moving.
bins4moves offers the opportunity to rent plastic moving boxes so that you don't have to buy cardboard boxes, build them and tear them down all while you are trying to organize your items and move.  Renting plastic moving boxes saves so much time!  Simply place your order online and the plastic moving boxes and dollies will be delivered to your door and picked up after you move.  www.bins4moves.com
